The acclaimed film ‘Nakshi Kanthar Zamin’ (A Tale of Two Sisters), starring Jaya Ahsan, is set to make its OTT debut.
After a successful theatrical release in January this year, the Liberation War–themed drama will now be available for streaming on the local OTT platform iScreen from October 19.
The platform has already shared the film’s trailer on its official page, captioned: “Does the story of selfless love and betrayal in rural life find a place in Nakshi Kanthar Zamin?”, sparking renewed curiosity among audiences.
Directed by Akram Khan, the film is based on noted writer Hasan Azizul Haque’s celebrated short story ‘Bidhobader Kotha’ (Tales of Widows). Set against the backdrop of the 1971 Liberation War, the story delves into rural life, exploring love, betrayal and human suffering with poignant emotional depth.
The film features Jaya Ahsan and Fariha Shams Sheoti as two sisters, while Eresh Zaker and Rawnak Hasan portray the two brothers. Actors Divya Jyoti and Soumya Jyoti also play key supporting roles.
