Electricity supply will remain suspended for eight hours in several areas of Sylhet’s Jaintiapur and Gowainghat upazilas on Monday to facilitate urgent repair and development work.
Power connections will remain disconnected from 9am to 5pm, according to the Power Development Board (PDB) in Jaintiapur.
Resident Engineer Shahedur Rahman said the shutdown is needed for road development and splitting the 11kV Jaflong feeder. As a result, supply will be cut in areas from Alubagan to Mama Bazar.
PDB officials said electricity will be restored once the work is complete.
The authorities apologised to consumers for the temporary inconvenience.
