Janata Bank PLC held its semi-annual business branch manager conference for the Rajshahi Division at a conference centre in Rajshahi on September 12.
The event was presided over by Mohammad Jahangir Hossain Jowardar, general manager (in-charge) of the bank’s Rajshahi office.
The conference was graced by Mohammad Fazlur Rahman, chairman of Janata Bank, as chief guest. Special guests included Mohammad Mojibur Rahman, managing director, and Mohammad Ashraful Alam, deputy managing director.
Branch managers and relevant executives from across the Rajshahi division gathered to discuss the bank’s operations and strategies. Chairman Rahman addressed the attendees with guidance on prudent loan disbursement. He emphasised the importance of assessing whether customers have a repayment mindset before extending loans. He directed that loans be distributed only among trustworthy clients who demonstrate a genuine willingness to repay.
In addition, Managing Director Rahman provided key advice on effective fund management. He urged that deposits collected in local areas should be reinvested in those same areas, promoting regional growth and economic development.
The conference underscored Janata Bank’s commitment to strengthening its operations and ensuring that its practices align with sustainable financial growth.
