Jamaat ameer Shafiqur Rahman on Wednesday accused miscreants of vandalising 13 polling booths in his Dhaka-15 constituency.
In a Facebook post around 5pm, the Jamaat leader strongly condemned the incident, stating, “Those who attempt to stop us through terror and intimidation forget that this nation advanced through the July revolution. The politics of muscle power is over, and the people cannot be suppressed any longer.”
He further alleged that those unwilling to engage in discussions on the country’s policies and future plans were now resorting to violence.
“The politics of fear and intimidation will not continue. The ‘scale’ has already taken root in the hearts of the common people, and this will be reflected in Thursday’s elections, InshaAllah,” he concluded.
