Bangladesh Cricket Board president Aminul Islam Bulbul has left for Kuwait to attend the Asian Cricket Council meeting. He departed last night and reached Kuwait on Wednesday. The meeting will bring together the heads of cricket boards from the ACC member nations. After a two day visit, Bulbul is expected to return home. A BCB director confirmed the matter to Daily Times of Bangladesh.
The Asian Cricket Council, which includes the cricket playing nations of Asia, has Bangladesh as one of its key members. The meeting comes at a time when regional cricket has faced tension over the T20 World Cup issue.
Earlier, Bangladesh refused to play the T20 World Cup in India. The tournament then began without Bangladesh. Pakistan later showed support for Bangladesh and even decided to boycott their match against India.
However, Pakistan later withdrew from that decision. The Pakistan government said they allowed the team to play against India after requests from friendly countries. Bangladesh was among those countries. For the greater interest of cricket, Aminul Islam Bulbul had urged Pakistan to take the field.
