Bangladesh’s table tennis and kabaddi teams returned to Dhaka on Monday after a difficult journey home from the Asian Games. The two teams landed in the afternoon after being stranded in Thailand due to floods that disrupted flights.
Their travel problems are not over yet. The players and coaches arrived without their luggage, which remains in Thailand. They were due to travel on a Thai Airways flight.
The table tennis team spent two days at the airport after their flights were disrupted. The Bangladesh men’s kabaddi team was also stuck there for a day.
The players had to wait for hours near the boarding gates and on airport chairs. They were given possible flight times several times, but their journey kept getting delayed.
The group finally managed to leave Thailand and return to Bangladesh, ending a long and difficult wait at the airport.
