The Iranian Consulate in Hyderabad has used a battle sequence from Prabhas-starrer ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ to amplify a message from Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian following his address to the United Nations General Assembly.
Shared on X on 27 September, the video features Amarendra Baahubali facing the Kalakeya army in the 2015 Telugu epic directed by SS Rajamouli.
The consulate paired the scene with Pezeshkian’s statement: “We will never bow our heads or kneel down.”
The post drew reactions from Indian social media users, many expressing surprise at the use of a popular Telugu film in a diplomatic message.
Pezeshkian addressed the UN General Assembly on 23 September, rejecting pressure on Iran and declaring that the country would not surrender.
Starring Prabhas, the film also features Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia and Ramya Krishnan. Its story continued with ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ in 2017.
