Popular actor and founder of the ‘Nirapad Sarak Chai’ movement, Ilias Kanchan, has been undergoing treatment in the UK for several months due to a brain tumor. He has been receiving regular chemotherapy there. According to his doctors’ plan, the first phase of therapy will conclude on December 11. Two days later, on December 13, he will participate in a virtual press conference, his first formal public appearance in a long time.
His long-time colleague, Liton Ershad, shared that during treatment, Ilias Kanchan’s health had occasionally weakened. However, the situation has now become much more stable. Liton said that Ilias Kanchan is now able to move around normally, speak, and respond well to treatment. The medical team is also optimistic.
Liton Ershad added, “After the final chemotherapy session on December 11, the doctors have advised him to rest for one to one and a half weeks. If everything goes well, he should be able to return to the country by the last week of the month.”
Will he resume work immediately after returning? According to Liton, that decision will depend on his treatment. Once back in the country, he will spend his time resting and attending follow-up treatments. Still, the news of his return has brought relief to colleagues, well-wishers, and fans alike. Everyone hopes that he will soon fully recover and return to a normal life.
