Bangladeshi photographer and human rights activist Shahidul Alam has pledged that the humanitarian mission to Gaza, Conscience, will continue its journey, undeterred by the repeated blockades imposed by Israeli forces.
In a post shared on Saturday, Shahidul Alam, who is aboard the Conscience ship, addressed the ongoing challenges faced by the Gaza-bound ‘Global Sumud Flotilla’. The flotilla, which includes journalists and human rights workers from various countries, has encountered multiple blockades by Israeli forces but remains resolute in its mission to deliver aid to Gaza.
“History shows no dictator has ever withstood the power of the people. Israel will not be able to either,” Shahidul remarked, emphasising the unwavering determination of the convoy participants as they make their way towards Gaza.

Despite facing several setbacks, including the detention of multiple ships by Israeli authorities, Shahidul highlighted that the Conscience ship carries the largest number of participants. The journey of Conscience began on 30 September from Otranto, Italy, and is now part of what has become one of the largest humanitarian fleets to ever travel together.
Shahidul elaborated on the convoy’s progress, noting that, due to the ship’s speed, Conscience had caught up with the other vessels at sea. The fleet is now united, sailing together towards Gaza, embodying a collective spirit of humanitarian strength.
“Despite Israel’s efforts to stop this journey, this human sea cannot be stopped,” Shahidul said, expressing his confidence in the power of collective human action.
Shahidul Alam further stressed the resolve of the people involved in this mission, saying, “The people are determined to break the siege of Gaza. Even if they are stopped, new fleets will come. No dictator has ever survived the power of the people. Israel will not either. Palestine will be free!”
His words reflect the deep commitment of the convoy participants, who remain resolute in their mission despite the obstacles they face.
