The process of reshuffling at the higher echelons of the police has begun, according to Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed.
He shared this information with journalists on Sunday after a meeting led by the prime minister at the Secretariat.
The home minister stated that he has heard about the incident of an attack on an embroidery factory in Adabor, Mohammadpur, in the capital, centered around demands for extortion. Instructions have been given to investigate the matter and submit a report swiftly. Strict action will be taken against those involved in the incident.
He said that, on the prime minister’s advice, the president will convene the first session of the 13th national parliament on March 12. The election of the speaker and deputy speaker will be finalised in that session. Additionally, the ordinances issued during the tenure of the interim government will also be presented in parliament.
In response to a question about whether any discussion has taken place regarding the election of a new president, the home minister stated that no discussion has occurred on this matter yet. He reiterated that the matter of electing the speaker and deputy speaker will be finalised at the scheduled time.
