Five more people have died of dengue in the past 24 hours, bringing the total death toll from the mosquito-borne disease this year to 323.
During the same period, 1,139 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country, according to a press release issued on Wednesday by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room under the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The release mentioned that among the new patients 179 were admitted in Barishal, 115 in Chattogram, 223 in Dhaka, 89 in Khulna, 82 in Mymensingh, 46 in Rajshahi (Excluding city corporations) and 254 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 143 in Dhaka South City Corporation.
In the past 24 hours, 1,051 dengue patients were discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 77,989.
As of 12 November 2025, a total of 81,773 people have been infected with dengue in Bangladesh this year, with 62.4% being men and 37.6% women.
In 2024, the country recorded 111,214 dengue cases with 575 deaths, while in 2023, dengue claimed 1,705 lives and hospitalized 321,179 patients nationwide.
