The police superintendents (SP) of Feni and Panchagarh have been withdrawn from their respective districts and attached to the Police Headquarters in Dhaka. Separate orders to this effect were issued by the Personnel Management-1 branch of Police Headquarters last Saturday.
Mohammad Mahbub Alam Khan, who was transferred from Chattogram Metropolitan to serve as the SP of Feni, is reportedly facing multiple cases, including murder. He is a resident of Chandina Upazila in Cumilla.
In a separate directive, Panchagarh SP Md Mizanur Rahman has been instructed to hand over his responsibilities to the next senior officer and report to the Police Headquarters this Sunday.
An officer of the 25th BCS Police batch, Mizanur Rahman hails from Barishal district. Before his assignment in Panchagarh, he served as the Deputy Commander (Superintendent of Police) at the Special Security and Protection Battalion-1 in Dhaka.
