Emirates has been voted the best airline in the world for the eighth consecutive year at the ULTRAs travel awards in Dubai, where the carrier also won top honours for its premium economy cabin and saw its president Tim Clark receive a lifetime achievement award for contributions to global aviation.
The ULTRAs, decided by a global network of 1.2 million frequent travellers, recognised Emirates for its customer experience, extensive worldwide network and modern fleet, according to a media release.
The awards also highlighted the airline’s reputation for regionally inspired cuisine, award-winning inflight entertainment and premium cabins featuring private suites, onboard lounges and shower spas.
Emirates’ airport services — including elite lounges and chauffeur-drive facilities — were cited as further evidence of its commitment to service innovation.
The airline’s new premium economy cabin, now available on routes linking Dubai with 61 cities, earned the title of ‘Airline with the Best Premium Economy Class’. The cabin has also secured multiple global accolades since its introduction.
Tim Clark, president of Emirates Airline, was honoured with a lifetime achievement award celebrating a career that began in 1972 and has shaped modern aviation.
Clark joined Emirates in 1985 and became president in 2003, overseeing its growth from a small regional carrier into one of the world’s largest long-haul airlines. He was also recently recognised by the Wings Club Foundation with its Distinguished Achievement Award.
