Students of Dhaka University have started leaving the capital for their hometowns after the university declared holidays for Eid-ul-Fitr.
As classes and examinations remain suspended, students have begun leaving the residential halls. Most hall canteens and nearby food shops have already closed.

The university started its scheduled holiday on Monday. However, some students still remain on campus. Some plan to leave in the coming days, while others will celebrate Eid on campus.
Early Sunday morning, students were seen leaving different halls with bags and luggage. Many used auto-rickshaws or motorcycles to begin their journey. Others headed towards bus, train or launch terminals to return home.

Areas such as Mall Chattar, the Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) and Curzon Hall, which usually remain crowded with students, now appear largely quiet.
Students carrying large bags and luggage were also seen travelling towards home through Nilkhet and Shahbagh areas.
The university will resume its regular academic activities on 29 March after the Eid holidays. Students are expected to return to campus from that date.
