Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport celebrated Bangla New Year with a cultural fair and a Dhakaiya-themed culinary festival on Tuesday, blending traditional festivities with modern hospitality.
The hotel organised the two-part event titled ‘Esho He Baishakh Uthsob’ and ‘Dhakaiya Roshona Bilash’ on its premises near Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, the hotel said in a press release.
The venue turned into a Baishakhi fairground, drawing families and guests of all ages with rides, games, and cultural performances.
Visitors enjoyed Nagordola rides, a Choo Choo train, a jumping castle, carousel, and balloon shooting games, alongside stalls, bioscope shows, folk performances, magic, and puppet theatre.
Creative activities such as Alpana art, face painting, and block mehendi were also arranged, while stalls offered traditional Baishakhi food items.
The culinary segment featured a Baishakh buffet inspired by Old Dhaka, with dishes including Shorisha Ilish, Ilish Polao, and Puran Dhaka Kacchi, along with kebabs and kathi rolls.
Desserts such as Nakshi Pitha, Vapa Pitha, and Gurer Roshogolla were served, followed by Agun Paan as part of the experience.
Guests were offered a “buy one get three” buffet deal when using selected bank cards.
Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport General Manager Ashwani Nayar said the event reflected the hotel’s effort to connect with the community through culturally rooted experiences.
He said the initiative aimed to blend global hospitality standards with local traditions and create a meaningful festive platform for guests.
The event was held in partnership with Bank Asia, Air Astra, SnapnKeep, 7UP, Bellissimo, and Tinker’s Tea.
