Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) celebrated Pohela Baishakh 1433 with cultural programmes and member participation at its premises on Tuesday.
The event was organised by the Dhaka Regional Chapter Sub Committee of ICSB, with members and their family members joining the celebration, the institute said in a press release.
A cultural programme featuring poetry recitation, songs, and an art competition marked the occasion.
ICSB President Hossain Sadat welcomed participants and said Pohela Boishakh remains one of the most colourful festivals, reflecting how Bangalis bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new one.
He also distributed prizes among children who won the art competition.
Among others present were ICSB Vice President Md Sharif Hasan, Treasurer Md Mizanur Rahman, Council Members Mohammad Abdullah Al Mamun, Khondakar Nasir Uddin Mahmud, Mohammed Harun-Ar-Rashid, and ICSB Secretary in Charge Md Shamibur Rahman.
Dhaka Regional Chapter Sub Committee Chairman Syed Mahmud Hasan delivered the introductory speech and thanked members and their families for joining the programme.
Dhaka Regional Chapter Member Secretary M M Sajedul Islam delivered the vote of thanks.
The programme ended with performances of Bengali folk songs by members and their children, followed by refreshments and lunch.
