Around 50 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups of villagers over a land dispute in Sarail, Brahmanbaria. The incident occurred in the Fatehpur village of Pakshimul union on Wednesday morning.

During the confrontation, several houses were vandalised and looted.

According to police and eyewitness reports, a land dispute had been ongoing between two brothers, Sattar and Emdadul. This dispute escalated on Wednesday morning, leading the villagers to split into two factions, with both sides armed with local weapons.

The clash lasted for about three hours, during which rioters damaged and looted multiple homes.

The situation was initially brought under control by the chairman of Pakshimul union and people from adjacent villages. Later, the police arrived and fully restored order. The injured were admitted to the upazila health complex and various local clinics for treatment.

Earlier, both the local union parishad chairman and police had mediated between the two parties and decided to resolve the land dispute on the upcoming Saturday. However, both sides ignored this agreement and resorted to violence on Wednesday morning.
