Citizens Bank PLC has signed a strategic partnership agreement with Nagad to expand digital financial services, enabling customers to add money to their Nagad wallets through the bank and facilitating remittance transfers to rural areas.
The agreement was signed at Citizens Bank’s head office in Dhaka. Citizens Bank Deputy Managing Director Md Abdul Latif and Nagad Chief Financial Officer Afzal Ahmed signed on behalf of their respective organisations, said a press release on Monday.
Citizens Bank Managing Director Alamgir Hossain and Nagad Senior Associate Administrator Syed Himyanuddin Ahmed were present at the event.
Under the agreement, the partnership will facilitate customer integration and simplify the onboarding process, enabling more people to access digital financial services. The initiative is expected to play an important role in expanding cashless transactions across the country.
Senior officials from both organisations attended the ceremony. Citizens Bank was represented by Deputy Managing Director Md Mostafizur Rahman, Chief Financial Officer Mohammad Saiful Islam, Head of Principal Branch Abdur Rouf Bhuiyan, Executive Vice President Mazibur Rahman and Head of SMR Bijoy Chandra Das.
Nagad was represented by Senior Associate Administrator Probal Ahmed, Associate Administrator Md Ajharul Haque, Head of Treasury and Merchant Operations Abid Khan, Head of Distributor Management Debabratha Kumar Chanda (Palash), Head of Business Sales Md Saidur Rahman Dipu and Head of Remittance Md Ahsanul Hoque Bashar.
