Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen called on Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanom (Rita) and State Minister M Rashiduzzaman Millat at the ministry’s office in the Secretariat on Wednesday, discussing ways to strengthen bilateral ties and boost tourism cooperation.
During the meeting, the ambassador expressed interest in increasing flight frequencies on the Dhaka-Beijing and Dhaka-Guangzhou routes, to which the minister and state minister assured full cooperation, according to a press release issued by the ministry.
Discussions focused on further elevating the bilateral relationship between Bangladesh and China to new heights, with special emphasis on working jointly to develop Bangladesh’s tourism sector.
The Chinese ambassador also affirmed China’s continued cooperation in developing Bangladesh’s tourism destinations, particularly the Cox’s Bazar development activities.
Both sides expressed interest in working jointly through a Public-Private Partnership model if necessary, the statement added.
