Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin will cast his vote at the Eskaton Garden High School polling centre in Dhaka-8 for the 13th parliamentary elections and the accompanying referendum, Election Commission sources said.
The EC said the CEC is expected to arrive at the polling centre around 9:30am. After voting, he will visit several other polling stations before returning to the Election Commission office.
The Dhaka-8 constituency is witnessing a contest among 11 candidates. BNP has nominated Mirza Abbas, while the 11-party alliance led by Jamaat-e-Islami has fielded Nasiruddin Patwary, the chief coordinator of NCP, who is contesting under the “Shapla Koli” (water lily bud) symbol.
The parliamentary election and referendum will be held on 12 February, from 7:30am to 4:30pm.
