The Faculty of Security and Strategic Studies (FSSS) of the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) organised the “1st CFS International Conference” on Tuesday and Wednesday at the university’s Independence Auditorium.

The conference, titled “National Security in South Asia amid the New World Order,” brought together renowned academics, researchers, policymakers, and security experts from home and abroad, reads a press release.

The event featured discussions and research-based exchanges on regional and global security challenges.

Key speakers included Pramod Jaiswal of Nepal, Subhashini Abeyasinghe of Sri Lanka, Salma Malik of Pakistan, and Greg Simons of Sweden.

Distinguished professors and researchers from various universities and research institutions in Bangladesh also participated in the conference.

The chief guest at the event was the speaker of the National Parliament of Bangladesh, Major (Retd.) Hafiz Uddin Ahmad.

In his address, he underscored the importance of regional cooperation, strategic dialogue, and research-based knowledge sharing to ensure peace, stability, and security in South Asia amid changing global dynamics.

The conference was also attended by the Vice Chancellor of BUP Major General Md Mahbub-Ul Alam, deans of different faculties, senior officials, teachers, researchers, students, and invited guests.

The two-day conference featured multiple academic sessions, panel discussions, and research paper presentations, creating a vibrant platform for scholarly exchange and policy-oriented dialogue.
