Speakers at the orientation programme for the September 2026 semester highlighted that UCSI University, a world-renowned Malaysian institution, has opened up opportunities for Bangladeshi students to earn international degrees within the country.
The orientation programme for the new batch was held in two sessions on Saturday, 5 September 2026, at the university hall room, and was attended by freshers, parents, and faculty members.
With this event, another group of young learners began their higher education journey at the UCSI University Bangladesh Branch Campus at Banani, Dhaka.
Prof Dr Muhammad Kushairi, pro-vice-chancellor of UCSI University Bangladesh Campus, and Prof Dr HM Jahirul Haque, vice president (Academic), addressed the new students.
Welcoming the freshers, speeches were delivered by Prof Syed Akhter Hossain, dean of the Faculty of Computer Science & Digital Innovation; Prof Mohammad J Munir, acting dean of the Faculty of Business & Management (FBM); and Dr Zoha Rahman, acting dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences & Liberal Arts.
Prof Dr Shah Samiur Rashid, Registrar, delivered the vote of thanks, followed by an address to the parents by Provost Major Suman Subhan (Retd). The programme was hosted by two senior students, Nora Sabrin Raha and Abida Afsara Golandaz.
The ceremony commenced with the national anthems of Bangladesh and Malaysia, followed by the oath-taking ceremony for the newly admitted students.
Addressing the students, Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Kushairi said, “By enrolling at UCSI University, you and your parents have made the right choice. Ranked among the top 300 universities globally and 8th in Asia, UCSI offers you a world-class environment to begin your higher education journey. This marks the beginning of your opportunity to fulfil the expectations of your families and the nation.”
HM Jahirul Haque said, “The key strengths of UCSI University are its quality of education, career-focussed approach, and industry-aligned curriculum.”
Encouraging students and parents to trust this standard, he added, “Your journey toward fulfilling your dreams begins with an institution that is recognised not only in Malaysia but globally.”
Later, faculty members briefed the students on the university’s academic framework, curriculum, teaching methodologies, examination processes, and co-curricular activities.
Following the briefing, students toured the campus, visiting classrooms, seminar halls, laboratories, the library, and sports areas.
