Law Minister Md Asaduzzaman has directed Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner to submit an investigation report within one week on the rape and murder of a seven‑year‑old child in the capital’s Pallabi.
On Thursday, the minister said steps will be taken to complete the trial of the case as quickly as possible, according to the public relations officer of the Ministry of Law.
Seven‑year‑old Ramisa Akhtar was raped and murdered in Dhaka’s Pallabi on 19 May. She was a second-grade student at Popular Model High School.
A man named Sohel Rana on Wednesday confessed before a court to the rape and murder of the girl. Sohel and his wife, Swapna Akhtar, were sent to the jail in connection with the incident.
