National Film Award-winning actress Bidya Sinha Mim has completed work on a new film titled Jibon Opera, although no official announcement has been made yet.

The film has been directed by Alvi Ahmed. It marks Mim’s first collaboration with the filmmaker.

“I have never worked under Alvi bhai’s direction before. This is my first film with him, and the shooting has already been completed. I cannot say much more at the moment. The team will share all the details with the media at the right time,” Mim said.

Expressing her optimism about the project, she added, “I am very hopeful about the film. Now, I am simply waiting.”

Mim won the National Film Award for her performance in late Khalid Mahmud Mithu’s Jonakir Alo. Her most commercially successful film to date is Raihan Rafi’s Poran, in which she starred alongside Sariful Razz and Yash Rohan.

Her latest theatrical release was Saif Chandan’s Malik, featuring Arifin Shuvoo. Mim made her acting debut in the film Amar Ache Jol, based on a novel by celebrated writer Humayun Ahmed.

She first gained recognition on television through Mizanur Rahman Arian’s drama Trump Card. In addition to acting, Mim has also written two books. Her first story collection, Shraboner Brishtite Veja, was published at the Amar Ekushey Book Fair in 2012, followed by her novel Purnota in 2013.

The actress currently serves as a brand ambassador for more than 10 local and multinational companies.
