The upcoming Eid edition of the popular magazine programme ‘Ityadi’ will feature actress Shobnom Bubly in an unexpected role. Known primarily for her work in films, the actress is set to appear as a singer for the first time, performing alongside musician Imran Mahmudul.
The special performance pairs Bubly with Imran for a song written by lyricist Kabir Bakul. Imran has also composed and arranged the track.
While Bubly is not professionally trained in music, the collaboration marks her first attempt at singing for a television audience.
Hosted and created by Hanif Sanket, Ityadi has remained one of Bangladesh’s most recognised entertainment programmes, particularly during festive occasions such as Eid. The show frequently blends humour, social commentary and music, often introducing unusual collaborations to keep viewers engaged.
One of its recurring features in recent years has been inviting actors and public figures to try their hand at singing on stage. These performances have occasionally brought together personalities from different corners of the entertainment industry.
Among those who previously took part are television actress Tasnia Farin, who performed with singer Tahsan Khan, as well as actor Siam Ahmed and actress Jannatul Sumaiya Heme, both of whom appeared as guest singers in earlier episodes.
The programme has also seen several well-known artists and performers experiment with similar musical appearances over the years, including Ilias Kanchan, Moushumi, Tania Ahmed, Tarin and Aupee Karim.
For the latest Eid instalment, Bubly’s performance with Imran is expected to continue that tradition. The accompanying music video was filmed on January 24 at the Bangladesh–China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka, where a large outdoor stage was specially constructed for the programme.
According to Fagun Audio Vision, the producers behind the show, the setting, the energy of the live audience and the duet between Imran and Bubly are expected to make the segment one of the memorable moments of this year’s Eid broadcast.
