Bangladesh Open University (BOU) held an online preparatory coordination meeting to ensure that the upcoming HSC Examination 2026 is conducted in a completely fair, transparent, orderly and student-friendly environment.
The meeting was held via Zoom at 10:30am on Tuesday, reads a press release.
BOU Vice-Chancellor Mohammad Siddiqur Rahman Khan joined the meeting virtually as the chief guest and provided directives to officials involved in the examination process.
He said the HSC Examination 2026 must be conducted in a copying-free, discrimination-free, fair and credible environment under any circumstances.
He instructed centre secretaries and all examination-related officials and staff to perform their duties with the highest level of responsibility and integrity while following a zero-tolerance policy.
The VC directed the mandatory use of photo-embedded digital admit cards to ensure accurate identification of examinees.
He also instructed the implementation of a QR code-based verification system to facilitate quick identity verification of students, saying the technology-driven initiative would play an important role in ensuring transparency and security in the examination process.
He further instructed that if any irregularity is detected within 15 days after the examination, where a candidate is found to have appeared despite being marked absent on the original attendance sheet, the relevant answer script must be identified promptly and necessary administrative action taken.
Emphasising the timely distribution and evaluation of answer scripts, the VC said the security and confidentiality of answer scripts, along with impartiality, professionalism and accountability at every stage of the evaluation process, must be ensured.
He also expressed hope that the university’s long-standing manpower and administrative structural challenges would be effectively resolved once its organogram is finalised.
He urged officials to use designated official contact numbers instead of personal numbers for emergency communication during the examination period.
To further modernise and strengthen examination management, the VC announced the formation of a central control room.
He also said the university’s own digital platform, MyBOU App, would be launched soon to provide faster, easier and improved services to students.
The meeting was chaired by Acting Controller of Examinations Md Habibullah Mahamud. BOU Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Education) Anisur Rahman and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Administration) Md Sirajul Islam spoke as special guests.
The university’s registrar, the dean of the Open School, the president of the HSC Examination 2026 Committee, the director of the SSS Division, the ICT adviser, and officials in charge of BOU’s regional and sub-regional centres across the country also attended the meeting.
In his concluding remarks, Habibullah called on all regional and sub-regional officials to discharge their responsibilities with sincerity, integrity and professionalism while maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality, transparency and impartiality to uphold BOU’s reputation and prestige.
He concluded the meeting by expressing hope that the combined efforts of all concerned would ensure the successful organisation of a credible and exemplary HSC Examination 2026.
