‘Bonolota Express’, based on Humayun Ahmed’s novel ‘Kichukkhan’, has begun its international release following its successful Eid-ul-Fitr premiere in Bangladesh.
Directed by Tanim Noor, the movie explores the personal lives of passengers aboard a train, weaving together emotional narratives that resonated strongly with audiences at home.
Swapna Scarecrow, the film’s international distributor, confirmed that the movie will screen in 52 theatres across Canada, US and the UK.
In its first week, 21 shows will run in the US: 21 at AMC, 14 at Regal, two at Cinemark and one at Showcase. Additionally, 15 shows will run at Cineplex, Canada, and four at Cineworld, UK.
Further screenings in Los Angeles, Connecticut and Austin are planned for April 10.
Director Tanim Noor expressed delight at the overseas response, saying, “The audience reaction has been unbelievable. It is a joy to share the film with viewers outside Bangladesh.”
The star-studded cast of Bonolota Express includes Chanchal Chowdhury, Mosharraf Karim, Shariful Razz, Intekhab Dinar, Sabila Nur, Zakia Bari Mamo, Azmeri Haque Badhon and Shamol Mawla.
