Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman has warned BNP leaders and activists against their involvement with black money and corruption, stating that failure to withdraw from such activities could result in political isolation.
Speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on “Socio-economic Development and the Future of Jhenaidah” organised by the Jhenaidah Chamber of Commerce and Industry at Johan Dream Valley Park on Sunday night, the Minister urged BNP members to heed the prime minister’s guidance.
“If you continue down the path of corruption and criminality, you must turn back. Follow the prime minister’s lead, or else political doors will close for you,” he stated.
Asaduzzaman went further to warn that those involved with illicit finances would face consequences. “If anyone in your ranks is entangled with the owners of black money, involved in criminal dealings, or profiting from it, we will expose them and bring them to justice,” he added. “Alternatively, they will be expelled from the party. A purification drive will soon be launched within the BNP.”
The Minister also revealed plans for the launch of the “Farmers Card” on Pahela Baishakh (Bengali New Year), a move intended to support the agricultural community.
On the issue of agricultural land being illegally converted for non-farming purposes, particularly soil being extracted for use in brick kilns, Asaduzzaman stressed the need for strict enforcement.
“We will engage with the relevant authorities to determine if riverbed soil can be used for brick kilns, but the illegal excavation of agricultural soil will not be tolerated,” he asserted.
The event was attended by key figures, including MA Majid, President of the District BNP, Abdullah Al Masud, the Deputy Commissioner of Jhinaidah, and other community leaders.
