A new family drama has brought veteran actor Subrata together with Farzana Chobi and rising actress Emu Sikdar. ‘Birodh’, written and directed by Shazzad Hossain Dodul, son of late filmmaker, screenwriter and lyricist Amjad Hossain, is now airing on Bangladesh Television (BTV).
Subrata plays a father in the serial. The veteran actor, who has worked extensively in both films and television, has previously appeared in three serials directed by Dodul.
“I have acted in three of Dodul’s serials before. I am playing a father in ‘Birodh’. The serial started airing last month. BTV dramas are now regularly uploaded on YouTube after their television broadcasts, which has increased their audience significantly. ‘Birodh’ has come into discussion within a short time. I thank Dodul for writing such a wonderful story,” Subrata said.
Farzana Chobi plays Shyuli in the serial and has already received a positive response from viewers for the character. She previously worked with Dodul in the one-off drama ‘Boka Prem’.
“I previously acted in a one-off drama called ‘Boka Prem’ under Dodul bhai’s direction. ‘Birodh’ is essentially a family drama. It is a positive development for our industry that family stories are once again becoming popular in television dramas. ‘Birodh’ is also a family story, which is why audiences are enjoying it. I thank Dodul bhai for involving me in his work,” Farzana Chobi said.
Emu Sikdar has also drawn attention as Shefali in the serial. The actress said she is pleased with the response from viewers, particularly those from remote areas.
“I am receiving a great response for my performance in the serial. Viewers, especially from remote areas, are watching the drama and sending me messages about my acting and character. Their love and positive response bring me great joy. The appreciation and affection I am receiving for Shefali are a source of happiness and inspiration in my acting career,” Emu Sikdar said.
Meanwhile, Subrata’s serial ‘Rupnagar’ has ended its run on Deepto TV. Farzana Chobi recently completed work on the one-off drama ‘Lobhi Mon’, written and directed by Litu Karim.
Emu Sikdar began her acting career with the drama ‘Bongshogoti’. Her notable works include ‘Julum’, ‘Tumi Amar Ke’, ‘Kare Bhalobashilam’, ‘Yusuf Zulekha’ and ‘Bishphool’. Born in Bhola, the actress celebrates her birthday on 10 November.
