In the ICC’s weekly update released on Tuesday, Bangladesh women earned significant ranking upgrades across batting, bowling and all-rounder charts after T20 World Cup qualifier matches in Ireland.
Sharmin Akhter led the charge. She smashed a fluent fifty against Ireland in the qualifier and turned that knock into a career-best ranking jump.
Her 52, built with one six and five fours in Saturday’s nine-run win, pushed her up 22 places to 35th among T20 batters. She had never climbed higher than 56th before this week.
Dilara Akter also enjoyed a breakthrough. She scored 25 against Namibia and followed it with 35 against Ireland, which lifted her 33 places to joint 70th.
That rise carries extra weight because it dragged her into the top 100 for the first time. Openers live on confidence, and rankings often mirror belief.
Captain Nigar Sultana still tops the Bangladesh batting chart despite a slight dip. She slipped four places to 22nd but remains the side’s most established name.
Sobhana Mostary used consistency to move forward. Scores of 27 and 30 lifted her 11 places to joint 52nd, while Swarna Akter jumped 17 spots to 83rd.
At the global summit, Australia’s Beth Mooney continues to set the benchmark among batters. She anchors the list with the calm authority Bangladesh now try to copy.
The bowlers also found reward. Leg-spinner Rabeya Khan claimed three wickets for five runs against Namibia and added another scalp versus Ireland, nudging her up one place to 14th.
She now sits top among Bangladesh bowlers. That matters because attacks build around reliability, not hype.
Fahima Khatun enjoyed a sharper rise. Her three-wicket haul against Namibia pushed her up six places to 30th.
Sanjida Akter Meghla matched that climb after taking four wickets in the same match. She now stands 54th, proof that wickets still move rankings faster than reputation.
Further down the list, Sultana Khatun moved up one place to 81st and Fariha Trisna climbed three to 97th. Small steps still count in a long rebuild.
Australia’s Annabel Sutherland tops the bowling rankings, while Hayley Matthews leads the all-rounders. Rabeya also climbed two places there to 28th, the highest-ranked Bangladeshi in that category.
