Indian singer-songwriter Anupam Roy’s much-awaited concert in Dhaka has been postponed once again, despite organisers completing all necessary preparations and obtaining the required approvals.
The concert, titled One True Sound with Anupam Roy, was scheduled to take place on 1 August after its original 26 June date was postponed.
However, organiser Triple Time Communication announced on Tuesday night that the event would not go ahead as planned.
In a statement shared on the company’s official Facebook page, the organisers said they had completed all preparations and fulfilled the necessary formalities with the relevant authorities.
“However, it is with great regret that we inform you that, despite completing all preparations and receiving the required approvals, we were instructed by the Ministry of Cultural Affairs not to proceed with the event, citing ‘unavoidable reasons’.
As a result, the concert has been postponed until further notice,” the statement read.
The organisers acknowledged that the sudden decision had disappointed thousands of music lovers, ticket holders, the artist, sponsors, partners and everyone associated with the event.
They added that the company fully respected the decision of the state and would comply with the directives issued by the relevant authorities.
Triple Time Communication also confirmed that all ticket holders would receive full refunds through the official ticketing platform.
The organisers have not yet announced a new date for the concert.
