Actor Tama Mirza has received two major awards within 24 hours, earning recognition in Bangladesh and the United States for her work in film and streaming productions.
Mirza first won the Best Actor (Female) award at The Daily Star-Blender’s Choice OTT Awards for her performance in the web series ‘Amalnama’. Within a day of receiving the honour, she travelled to the US to accept a Dhallywood Award.
Speaking about her win for ‘Amalnama’, Mirza credited the project’s collaborative team and the audience’s response. She said the role offered considerable scope for performance and had become a special project for her.
She also praised director Raihan Rafi for selecting the story and shaping it with care, thanking the audience and the organisers for the recognition.
Mirza said the consecutive awards reinforced her sense of responsibility as an actor. She plans to be selective about future projects, prioritising roles that offer meaningful opportunities to perform.
Beyond acting, Mirza has also taken on a corporate role. For the past few months, she has been working as an assistant vice-president in brand and communications at a private bank, balancing office responsibilities with her screen career.
