Keanu Reeves could be heading into another crime thriller, with the Hollywood star in talks to join director James Wan’s English-language remake of the South Korean film ‘The Gangster, The Cop, The Devil’.

According top The Hollywood Reporter, the Paramount Pictures project will reportedly reunite Reeves with action star Don Lee, also known as Ma Dong-seok, who is set to reprise his role from the original 2019 film.

The story follows a police officer and a crime boss who reluctantly join forces to track down a serial killer, despite having different motives. The investigation leads to double-crosses and clashes between criminal groups and law enforcement.

Wan will direct and produce the film through his Blumhouse-Atomic Monster banner. Producers also include Jason Blum, Sylvester Stallone, Don Lee and Lorenzo di Bonaventura.

Eric Pearson wrote the latest screenplay, based on earlier drafts by Shay Hatten and Brian Helgeland. Reeves’ role in the remake has not yet been confirmed.

The original film, directed by Lee Won-tae, premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in 2019. The remake is expected to begin production in Los Angeles in April 2027.
