For actor Rosey Siddique, performing a play repeatedly has not eased the pressure of going on stage. Instead, each show has heightened her sense of responsibility towards the audience.
As her solo production ‘Panchanari Akhyan’ reached its 81st staging, Siddique said she remained nervous about meeting audience expectations and delivering a performance that leaves a lasting impression.
Written by Harun Rashid and directed by Shahiduzzaman Selim, the play runs for one hour and 20 minutes, with Siddique performing alone throughout. She described sustaining the performance and engaging with audiences after each show as continuing challenges.
Siddique credited Selim’s direction with pushing her to improve and said she wanted every staging to connect meaningfully with viewers rather than simply repeat what had worked before.
Alongside theatre, she continues to act in television dramas. Her current drama, ‘Phire Ashar Golpo’, has also received a positive response from viewers.
