Two members of Bangladesh Ansar at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport have earned praise for their integrity after recovering a lost bag and returning it to an expatriate arriving from Dubai.

The incident occurred around 8:15pm on Thursday, in the Heavy Luggage-03 area of the airport. Mohammad Rubayet Matubbor, who had just returned from Dubai, discovered that his bag, packed with items for his family and essential documents, was missing.

Distressed by the potential loss of his hard-earned belongings, Rubayet sought assistance from the Ansar members on duty, Md Akram Hossain and Md Foyez Ahmed. The two personnel immediately initiated a search across the airport premises.

Using the name and address details on the luggage sticker as a lead, the Ansar members conducted a thorough 20-minute search. They eventually located the bag in Row-D, where it had been mistakenly placed on another passenger’s trolley.

Following a strict verification of ownership and identity, the luggage was handed back to Rubayet. Overwhelmed with relief, the expatriate expressed his deep gratitude and lauded the honesty, professionalism, and sincerity of the Ansar members.

This act of service reflects the standing instructions of Director General of Bangladesh Ansar Major General Abdul Motaleb Sazzad Mahmud, who has directed all personnel to maintain a responsible and humane approach towards the public, particularly the nation’s “remittance warriors”.

The recovery of the luggage is being cited as a bright example of the force’s commitment to its service-oriented and humanitarian image.
