The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has forecast rain in different parts of the country over the next 24 hours from Wednesday morning.
According to a Met office bulletin issued at 9am, light to moderate rain or thundershowers with temporary gusty winds are likely at most places in Rajshahi, Khulna and Barishal divisions; at many places in Rangpur, Dhaka and Chattogram divisions; and at a few places in Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions.
Moderately heavy to very heavy rainfall may also occur in some areas.
A mild heatwave is sweeping over Rangpur, Dinajpur and Syedpur districts and may subside, the bulletin said.
Day and night temperatures may drop by 1–2°C across the country.
On Tuesday, Rangpur recorded the highest temperature at 36.8°C, while Wednesday’s minimum was 22.1°C in Sylhet.
In the past 24 hours till 6am, Cumilla recorded the highest rainfall at 82mm. The sun will set at 5:54pm Wednesday and rise at 5:48am Thursday in Dhaka.
