Bangladesh has recorded 11 more suspected measles deaths and 1,270 new cases in 24 hours, according to official health data.
The Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room reported that the figures, covering the 24 hours to 8am on 23 September, include four delayed death reports from 21 September.
Out of the 1,270 new infections identified during this period, 1,157 were suspected measles cases and 113 were confirmed cases.
Since 15 March, the country has recorded a cumulative total of 183,449 suspected measles cases and 20,851 confirmed cases.
Total fatalities over the same period stand at 975 from suspected measles and 101 from confirmed measles.
In addition, 162,048 patients with suspected measles have been admitted to hospital since 15 March, of whom 155,612 have been discharged following treatment.
24-hour regional breakdown
In the latest 24-hour window, Dhaka Division logged the highest number of new suspected infections at 382, alongside 103 confirmed cases and six suspected measles deaths, with Dhaka district accounting for five of those fatalities.
Elsewhere during the same timeframe, Chattogram Division reported 238 suspected cases and two deaths. Sylhet Division registered 164 suspected cases and one death.
Barishal Division logged 148 suspected cases. Khulna Division identified 91 suspected cases and one death.
Mymensingh Division recorded 81 suspected cases. Rangpur Division logged 27 suspected cases and one death. Rajshahi Division reported 26 suspected cases.
Division-wise cumulative totals
Cumulative figures since 15 March show Dhaka Division leading overall with 78,037 suspected cases and 439 deaths.
Chattogram Division has recorded 36,408 suspected cases and 78 deaths. Barishal Division has logged 19,955 suspected cases and 60 deaths. Sylhet Division has registered 14,476 suspected cases and 170 deaths.
Khulna Division has recorded 12,037 suspected cases and 42 deaths. Rajshahi Division has registered 10,371 suspected cases and 93 deaths. Mymensingh Division has reported 8,966 suspected cases and 78 deaths. Rangpur Division has logged 3,199 suspected cases and 15 deaths.
Meanwhile, under the National Measles-Rubella Vaccination Campaign, 19,849,615 individuals have been vaccinated across eight divisions against a target of 18,015,064, bringing national coverage to 110.2 per cent.
In 12 city corporation areas, 2,082,287 individuals have received the vaccine against a target of 1,905,950, achieving a coverage rate of 109.3 per cent.
