ACI PLC halved its annual losses in the 2024-25 fiscal year as its consolidated net loss per share dropped to Tk 7.4 from Tk 15.88.

However, its board of directors recommended a 25% or Tk 25 cash dividend for each share with a face value of Tk 10, despite the company’s losses for the third consecutive year.

The company’s consolidated net asset value per share stood at Tk 91.64 at the end of June.

In FY25, the company achieved a 10.93% growth in consolidated revenue and a 15.42% growth in consolidated gross profit.

This was thanks to cost control initiatives that helped achieve higher growth in gross profit compared to the growth in operating expenses, resulting in an improved operating profit.

However, the net result was negative due to higher borrowing costs amid rate hikes, along with additional funding for working capital and strategic investments to support business growth, the company said in its stock exchange disclosure.

ACI Chairman M Anis Ud Dowla on Thursday expressed his intention to buy 500,000 shares of the company at the prevailing market price in the block market through the Dhaka Stock Exchange within the next 30 working days.

Block market trades occur beyond the regular platform, where buyers and sellers meet for large transactions at pre-determined prices, not deviating by more than 10% from the market price.

ACI shares rose by 3.75% to Tk 177.1 apiece on the DSE on Thursday.
