Police have arrested a total of 1,256 people across the country during a special operation on various criminal charges.

AHM Sahadat Hossaine, additional inspector general (AIG) (Media and PR) of Police Headquarters confirmed the information on Friday.

He said, “Police arrested 1,256 individuals during special drives conducted nationwide in the last 24 hours. Among them, 804 were accused in cases and had pending arrest warrants, while 452 others were detained in connection with different incidents. In total, 1,256 people were arrested.”

During the operation, police recovered two Chinese axes, one machete, five rounds of bullets, one foreign revolver, one cartridge, a fragment of ammunition, and one local single-barrel gun.
