Dhanmondi Cricket Academy (DCA) celebrated its 25th anniversary with a grand Silver Jubilee event at its Dhanmondi premises on October 28. The occasion brought together executive committee members, former and current students, staff, and well-wishers to mark 25 years of contribution to cricket development.
The event, organized by DCA in association with Momentum Arena, was filled with emotion and nostalgia. It featured video presentations from past and present students, staff, and committee members reflecting on the academy’s journey. Messages from parents of students added a heartfelt touch, highlighting the community spirit that has grown around the academy.
A special part of the evening was a tribute to late members of the academy. DCA presented ten special crests to the families of deceased members in recognition of their service. The honorees included founding president Muhammad Zakaria, founding vice president Dr. Mohammad Abdullah, Faruqul Islam Faruq, Aliul Islam, Nadir Shah, Jalal Ahmed Chowdhury, Badruddoza Babla, Abu Sayed Khan, Sayeda Naila, Samiur Rahman Sami, and Sanjoy Pal Bappi.
The event also served as a reunion, as many former students and members reconnected and shared memories. The formal proceedings were followed by a live music performance and a dinner. The night ended with a fireworks display over Dhanmondi, symbolizing the academy’s continued journey.
“Dhanmondi Cricket Academy has been nurturing cricketers for over 25 years. Our proudest moment has been when our former student Saif Hasan became successful for the Bangladesh national cricket team. We strive to produce more cricketers in the future that will benefit our nation’s cricket,” said DCA President Abu Mohammad Sabur.
Established 25 years ago, Dhanmondi Cricket Academy has produced numerous players and continues to play a role in developing young cricketing talent in Bangladesh.
