DCCI and DSE sign MoU to boost SME’s capital market access

Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) and Dhaka Stock Exchange PLC (DSE) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance cooperation on capital market development and SME financing.

The signing took place on Monday at DSE Tower. DCCI President Taskeen Ahmed and DSE Chairman Mominul Islam signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.

According to the agreement, both institutions will work jointly on research, seminars, symposiums and policy dialogues to promote market transparency, capacity building and investor confidence.

The partnership aims to simplify enlistment criteria and raise awareness to encourage greater participation of small and medium enterprises in the capital market, according to a press release.
DCCI President Taskeen Ahmed said the MoU marks a shared vision to strengthen Bangladesh’s economic foundation through collaboration, knowledge exchange and innovation.

“Together, we are opening a new chapter that bridges the capital market and private sector, empowering businesses, especially SMEs, to access finance, grow sustainably and contribute to national development,” he said.

DSE Chairman Mominul Islam said the collaboration would foster innovation, promote research and support policy advocacy for market development.

He said many SMEs still lack proper knowledge of the listing process, but through joint programmes such as seminars and workshops, entrepreneurs will gain a better understanding of the benefits offered by the DSE.

He added that mutual cooperation and coordinated efforts between DSE and DCCI will significantly benefit both institutions.

DCCI Senior Vice President Razeev H Chowdhury, DSE Acting Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer Mohammad Asadur Rahman FCS and board members from both organisations were present at the ceremony.
