Grameenphone Academy, a free online learning platform, has recently reached 400,000 enrolments, with 80,000 young people joining its artificial intelligence (AI) courses within eight months as demand for digital and AI skills grows.
The milestone comes as AI and emerging technologies reshape how people learn, work and build careers, said a press release on Monday.
The Academy’s AI programme covers prompt engineering, AI agents, creative intelligence, workflow automation, AI-supported portfolio building, no-code app development, AI-driven UX and machine learning. A total of 50,000 certificates have been awarded to successful learners.
University of Dhaka student Md Aman Ullah Aman said his experience with the academy helped him strengthen his communication and leadership skills and become financially independent. He is now pursuing chartered accountancy at Deloitte Bangladesh while sharing his learnings with more than 300 young people in his community.
Grameenphone Head of ESG Farhana Islam said around 2.2 million people enter Bangladesh’s job market every year, while youth account for 78.9 per cent of the country’s unemployed population. “The 400,000-enrolment milestone, alongside the strong uptake of our AI programme, reflects young people’s appetite to learn and prepare themselves for this change,” she said.
