Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has successfully conducted a training session focused on the prevention of money laundering, titled “Prevention of Money Laundering: Practical Aspects and Case-Based Analysis”.
The session, held at the bank’s head office at Police Plaza Concord in Gulshan, aimed to enhance the capabilities of bank officials in addressing the growing risks of money laundering and terrorist financing.
The session featured the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Director of Money Laundering Mohammad Morshed Alam as the chief guest and keynote speaker. In his address, Alam provided an in-depth analysis of money laundering, both on a national and international scale.
He discussed various typologies, the points at which risks typically emerge, and the critical compliance measures financial institutions must adopt to stay vigilant. His real-world insights were invaluable for participants, illustrating the vital role that financial institutions play in preventing financial crimes.
The event was chaired by the Managing Director (Current Charge) of Community Bank, Kimiwa Saddat, who emphasized that compliance is not only a regulatory obligation but also a moral duty for all financial institutions. Saddat thanked Alam for accepting the bank’s invitation and sharing his expertise, which significantly enriched the learning experience for all attendees.
The session was coordinated by the Senior Assistant Vice President and Manager of Learning & Development at Community Bank, HM Mahedi Hasan. The training is part of the bank’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its capacity to combat financial crimes and maintain the highest standards of compliance.
