At the hospital, an agent allegedly approached her family and convinced them to shift her to a private facility, promising a proper Caesarean operation.

Soon after the procedure, her condition began to deteriorate, and her abdomen reportedly swelled abnormally. As her health worsened, a second surgery was conducted the following day. During the operation, gauze allegedly left inside her abdomen was removed and the surgical wound was re-stitched.

Despite the second surgery, her condition did not improve. She was later transferred in a critical state to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital in Bogura, where she died on 9 April while undergoing treatment.

Following the incident, the civil surgeon of Naogaon inspected Metro Hospital and found that the healthcare facility was operating without registration.

The matter came to public attention after several media outlets published reports on the incident. On 13 April, taking cognisance of those reports, the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Naogaon Sadar Cognisance Court No. 1 ordered an investigation.

The court directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate the case and instructed the Superintendent of Police of PBI, Naogaon, to collect the autopsy report, identify all individuals involved and submit a detailed investigation report with their names and addresses.

After completing the probe, the PBI submitted its report to the court on 22 August. Based on the findings, the court on Wednesday ordered the issuance of arrest warrants against all six accused.
