Professor Emeritus Datuk Dr Siti Hamishah Binti Tapsir, vice-chancellor and president of Malaysia’s UCSI University, spent a busy first day during her four-day official visit to Bangladesh.
Upon her arrival at the UCSI University Bangladesh Branch Campus in Banani on Saturday morning, she was warmly received with floral greetings by the pro-vice-chancellor, provost, registrar, faculty members, students, and university officials.
In the afternoon, Siti Hamishah addressed a student gathering at the campus auditorium.
The open-floor session covered discussions on teaching methodologies, curriculum design, and campus life, during which the vice-chancellor answered various queries from the students.
Later in the afternoon, she delivered a public lecture titled “Leadership and Private University Management” at the same venue. Speaking on the occasion, she highlighted that private universities in higher education are advancing while tackling multifaceted challenges.
“The curriculum at UCSI University has been structured in such a way that we are not merely preparing graduates for jobs, but shaping each graduate to become a job creator,” she said.
