Two more suspected measles patients, both residents of Chattogram Division, died in the 24 hours between 8am on 16 September and 8am on 17 September.
During this period, 1,282 new suspected measles patients were detected and 61 cases were confirmed, according to a press release issued on Thursday by the Health Emergency Operation Centre and Control Room of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
In the same timeframe, 1,182 new patients were admitted to hospitals across the country, whilst 1,075 recovered patients were discharged.
A division-wise breakdown shows that Dhaka Division recorded the highest number of new cases, with 493 suspected patients detected and 41 confirmed infections.
Chattogram Division registered the second highest, reporting 277 suspected cases and 20 confirmed infections.
Elsewhere, new suspected cases were identified in Sylhet (165), Barisal (122), Khulna (94), Mymensingh (64), Rajshahi (38), and Rangpur (29).
Of the new hospital admissions in the 24 hours, Dhaka accounted for 407, Chittagong 286, Sylhet 157, and Barisal 110.
According to consolidated data from DGHS covering the period from 15 March to 17 September, a total of 176,480 suspected and 20,343 confirmed measles cases have been identified nationwide.
Total hospital admissions reached 155,602, with 149,540 patients discharged following treatment. During this period, 946 deaths were reported among suspected measles patients, alongside 100 deaths among confirmed measles cases.
Meanwhile, under the National Measles-Rubella Immunisation Campaign 2026, a total of 18,015,064 individuals have been vaccinated, achieving a national coverage rate of 110.0 per cent.
In city corporation areas, 20,78,613 individuals were vaccinated against a target of 1,905,950, securing 109.1 per cent coverage.
