Community Bank Bangladesh PLC on Monday marked its seventh anniversary with a target of becoming a trusted, sustainable and cashless bank by 2029, as it renewed its focus on technology-driven transformation, growth and sustainability.

The anniversary was celebrated through programmes organised by officials and employees, including a ceremony at Police Headquarters where Bangladesh Police Inspector General and Community Bank Chairman Md Ali Hossain Fakir cut a cake, the bank said in a press release on 14 September.

Community Bank Managing Director Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin and officials and employees from different levels also marked the anniversary by cutting a cake at the bank’s Head Office.

Ali Hossain Fakir said the trust and capabilities Community Bank had built over seven years were a source of pride and expressed hope that the bank would play a greater role in Bangladesh’s economic progress by providing more modern, customer-friendly and sustainable banking services.

Emtiaz Uddin said the bank aimed to become stronger and reach new heights through transformation, growth and sustainability.

He said Community Bank had built a strong foundation during its seven years of operation and would continue to improve technology, innovation and service quality as the banking sector changes.

The bank would also give the highest priority to customer trust and expectations while strengthening its contribution to economic progress through responsible and sustainable banking, he said.

Emtiaz described the bank’s officials and employees as its greatest strength, saying their skills, dedication, collective effort and innovative thinking would help turn future opportunities into success.

Bangladesh Police Additional IGP (Finance) Md Akram Hossain, BPM (Sheba), Bangladesh Police Additional IG and Police Staff College Rector Kazi Md Fazlul Karim, BPM (Sheba), Bangladesh Police Deputy Inspector General (Confidential) Md Kamrul Ahsan, Bangladesh Police Kallyan Trust Additional DIG Ahmad Muyeed, BPM (Sheba), and Bangladesh Police Inspector Kamrul Hasan Talukdar attended the Police Headquarters ceremony.

Community Bank Independent Directors Dr Md Morshed Hasan Khan, Syed Rafiqul Haq and Mohammed Tofazzul Hussain FCA, Managing Director Mohammed Emtiaz Uddin and senior bank officials were also present.

Officials and employees later shared memories, experiences and achievements from the bank’s seven-year journey, including its growth, efforts to overcome challenges and their professional experiences with the institution.

They renewed their commitment to technology-driven innovation, continuous improvement and sustainable growth, with the bank aiming to play a greater role in Bangladesh’s financial development while pursuing its 2029 goal.
