More than 200 tourism organisations from 10 countries will take part in the 13th Asian Tourism Fair 2026, beginning in Dhaka on Thursday.
The three-day event will run until 19 September at the International Convention City Bashundhara, featuring around 300 booths across three halls.
Hotels, resorts, tour operators, travel agencies, airlines, tourism bodies and foreign missions will present their services, packages and investment proposals.
The fair is being held with the endorsement of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism and support from Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation and Bangladesh Tourism Board.
Asian Tourism Fair Chairman and Parjatan Bichitra Editor Md Mohiuddin Helal said the event would strengthen connections among tourism businesses and create new investment opportunities.
Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Chairman Md Samimuzzaman said the fair would help highlight Bangladesh’s tourism potential through collaboration between public and private sector participants.
The programme will include Destination Bangladesh Showcase, International Tourism Showcase, Bangladesh Tourism Investment Showcase, business-to-business sessions, seminars, destination presentations, panel discussions and product promotions.
Cultural performances from Bangladesh, Nepal and the Philippines will be held every evening.
The fair will highlight regional and sustainable tourism products, including haor, Sundarbans, river, adventure, community-based and eco-tourism. Organisers said children, students, women entrepreneurs and local tourism initiatives would receive special attention.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines is the title sponsor, while Crowne Plaza Dhaka Airport is the platinum partner. Chuti Group Cox’s Bazar, Crowne Plaza Dhaka Gulshan and Vhaiya Hotels are among the other partners.
The fair will remain open from 10:00am to 7:00pm daily. Entry costs Tk30, with visitors eligible for a raffle draw featuring travel prizes and gift vouchers.
The minister for civil aviation and tourism will inaugurate the fair on 17 September at ICCB.
The closing ceremony on 19 September will be attended by the minister for Chittagong Hill Tracts affairs as chief guest.
