The decision took effect on 1 September 2026, providing greater job stability and security to the employees, many of whom have been working with the bank since its inception, the bank said in a press release.
Welcoming the move, Employee Welfare Union President Mazedul Islam said the permanent status of the employees was a matter of “great joy and pride” for the workers who had served as temporary staff for years.
“Through this decision, their long-standing uncertainty has ended and stability and security in their careers have been ensured,” he said, adding that the union welcomed the bank authorities’ “positive and humane decision”.
Employee Welfare Union General Secretary Nasir Uddin said the regularisation of 177 temporary employees was an important fulfilment of their long-held expectations.
He said the decision had created renewed confidence and enthusiasm among employees, who would use their experience, skills and dedication to improve the bank’s services and contribute to its overall growth.
The union leaders said the move had restored confidence among the regularised employees and expressed hope that it would bring positive changes to the bank’s working environment while strengthening employees’ sense of responsibility and commitment.
They added that the regularised employees would play an important role in the continued development and progress of Al-Arafah Islami Bank by using their experience and expertise.
