BRAC Bank expands employee banking to Bitopi Group staff

BRAC Bank has partnered with Bitopi Group to provide its employees with salary accounts, multi-currency debit cards, credit cards, personal loans, deposit pension schemes, fixed deposits and other corporate benefits under the bank’s Employee Banking programme.

The agreement was signed on 25 August at BRAC Bank’s Head Office in Dhaka by BRAC Bank Managing Director and CEO Tareq Refat Ullah Khan and Bitopi Group Managing Director Miran Ali on behalf of their respective organisations, the bank said in a press release on Monday.

The partnership is aimed at providing Bitopi employees with financial products for their everyday banking needs and longer-term financial planning.

Bitopi Group has businesses spanning apparel manufacturing, advertising, event management, fisheries and agro. Its four large readymade garment factories specialise in jackets, activewear, denim, non-denim and synthetics.

BRAC Bank Additional Managing Director and Head of Wholesale Banking Md Shaheen Iqbal, CFA, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Corporate, Commercial & Institutional Banking Md Asif Bin Idrish, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail Banking Md Mahiul Islam and Senior Relationship Manager, Employee Banking Zebun Nahar attended the signing along with other senior officials.

Bitopi Group Chief Financial Officer Md Morshedul Hoque, General Manager, HR, Admin & Sustainability (Corporate) Md Emdadul Karim and Deputy General Manager, Finance & Supply Chain Management Md Jashim Uddin were also present along with other officials.

BRAC Bank said it is expanding its Employee Banking programme through partnerships with organisations across different industries, combining financial products with technology-driven banking services and other privileges.

Established in 2001 with a focus on the small and medium enterprise segment, BRAC Bank operates 312 branches and sub-branches, 330 ATMs, 446 SME Unit Offices and 1,119 Agent Banking outlets, according to the release.

The bank employs more than 10,000 people and also serves corporate and retail customers. It has more than two million customers.
